Bull Figure: Upcycling and Texture Workshop

Create Your Own Masterpiece (2 Sessions / Total 6 Hours)

Watch as an old t-shirt, plastic bottles, household packaging, and fringed mops from your home transform into a powerful bull sculpture. In this workshop, you will learn to build a voluminous figure from scratch using special papier-mâché and fabric hardening techniques, creating striking surface textures out of ordinary materials.

Session 1: Structural Foundation and Form Creation (3 Hours)

In this first stage, we focus on the design logic of upcycling. You will build the anatomical inner skeleton of the bull by piecing together materials like packaging waste and cables. Next, you will shape details like the head and nose using our specially prepared papier-mâché. To complete the basic structure, you will cover the body form with your old t-shirt and fabric hardener, then leave the figure to dry.

Session 2: Characteristic Texture and Layering (3 Hours)

In this session, we give surface character to your fully dried and hardened figure. You will use pieces of a fringed mop as a structural element to build the bull's rugged hide. We will then use gold and copper pigments to shade the form, highlighting its depth and finer details. After applying a final protective coat, your work will be complete—a testament to how ordinary objects can undergo a beautiful aesthetic transformation into a lasting masterpiece.

What should I bring with me?

Empty 0.5-liter plastic water bottle and household packaging waste: To build the inner skeleton of the sculpture, add volume, and contribute to our collective upcycling cycle, please bring clean, dry plastic packaging waste (such as product wrappers or plastic bags) and empty plastic bottles from home.
An old t-shirt (100% cotton): Non-synthetic, solid-colored cotton fabrics work best during the shaping phase.

All technical materials, Powertex products, shaping tools, and brushes used during the workshop are fully included in the participation fee.

Is Experience Required?

No, you do not need any prior background or crafting experience to join our workshops. Our short, focused sessions are designed around understanding how the materials work, rather than just mechanically assembling ready-made molds. You will receive one-on-one technical guidance every step of the way.

Our goal is not just to produce a quick, disposable object. Instead, we want you to truly connect with the materials and experience the satisfaction of creating an original, lasting piece of art that you have personally shaped from start to finish.

Material Safety and Smell

The Powertex products we work with are water-based, eco-friendly, and do not have any strong chemical smells, like paint thinner. They are safe for your health and very comfortable to use indoors.
