Room Decor and Upcycling for Halloween

In this workshop, you will design an eerie zombie head that perfectly reflects your personal style by combining everyday plastic packaging and gauze with Powertex techniques. Far from the typical store-bought plastic Halloween decorations, you will learn step-by-step how to create a fully handcrafted gothic room accessory or cosplay prop.

Establishing Form and Volume

We start by filling a plastic bag with the waste packaging you brought, wrapping it tightly with tape to build the head structure and basic anatomy of your zombie.

Creating a Dark Texture

You will cover your prepared form with gauze soaked in a fabric hardener. Once dry, the natural weave of the gauze will perfectly capture that creepy, wrinkled, and time-worn "mummy" texture we are looking for.

Character Details

To bring your character to life and strengthen its expression, you will add button eyes to the form.

Aging and Patina with Bister

After your sculpture dries, we move on to the most fun part: applying Bister. This liquid organic pigment will shade all the crevices, cracks, and folds on the surface, giving your zombie a dark, ancient, and weathered atmosphere.

Final Details

You will give your zombie head its final personality with stitched mouths, scars, or any micro-details you can imagine. At the end of the process, you will walk away with a completely unique gothic design that you brought to life with your own hands.

What should I bring with me?

Household packaging waste: Clean, dry plastic packaging waste accumulated in your home (product wrappers, plastic bags, etc.).

All technical materials, Powertex products, shaping tools, and brushes used during the workshop are fully included in the participation fee.

Is Experience Required?

No, you do not need any prior background or crafting experience to join our workshops. Our short, focused sessions are designed around understanding how the materials work, rather than just mechanically assembling ready-made molds. You will receive one-on-one technical guidance every step of the way.

Our goal is not just to produce a quick, disposable object. Instead, we want you to truly connect with the materials and experience the satisfaction of creating an original, lasting piece of art that you have personally shaped from start to finish.

Material Safety and Smell

The Powertex products we work with are water-based, eco-friendly, and do not have any strong chemical smells, like paint thinner. They are safe for your health and very comfortable to use indoors.
